Quintin's in Texas

We are on another crazy adventure as I would like to call this. Quintin took a job offer in Midland,Texas on Dec. 30, 2012. He left for his new job Jan. 2, 2013. He working in Midland, Texas in the natural gas fields on the Permian Basin. He is hauling gas rigs. If you are curious what it looks like to move one of these hugh rig youtube has video of it. Just search oil rig then go to drilling rig movers by CND catskinner. That is one of the jobs Quintin will be doing.

The big question everyone is asking me are the kids and I moving to Texas? The answer to that question would be no. We are staying here in Pa and Quintin will be spend most of the time In Texas. I know you are probably wondering why. That's because this contract in Texas could move to another state again. It was originally in South Dakota when Quintin first applied for the job and in three months it moved to Texas. We are still working out the details to when we are going to see Quintin again. We originally thought he would work 2 months and come home for 2 weeks. I have a feeling we are not going to see him until Easter now. The air fair cost a lot more then we thought it would. There are other logistical things that have to worked out before he can come home. We also thought we could spend the summer in Texas. We are not sure if that's an option either. Finding house will be a problem. I guess we will have to wait and see. This is forever changing, a work in progress.

I guess we have a long journey ahead of us. Quintin and I aren't sure what will come next. I think we are up for the challenge. The kids and I miss him terribly. LaRae is having the hardest time adjusting to her daddy being gone so long. I am glad there are cell phones. It has made this a lot easier. The kids have sent Quintin lots of video from the cell phone and text messages. We don't have an address yet however, they are already planing out his first care package. They sent pictures and notes with him before he left so he would have a piece home in Texas. LaRae wants to send PA snow to him. That might be a little more difficult.
